DESCRIPTION:
The new Haltom Middle School replaces an aging facility within the Birdville Independent School District. The new campus is nearing completion and was constructed on the same site as the existing school building. This campus supports 1,000 students and is divided into four wings, and includes spaces for programs such as CTE, Art and Special Education. Paired classrooms throughout the campus are separated with movable partitions to allow for group learning. Collaboration areas are provided near classrooms and have tackable wall surfaces and markerboards along with TV’s to provide students various opportunities for collaborative studies and presentations. Additional spaces provided include cafeteria, athletic fields, gymnasia, weight rooms, media centers with makerspaces, and fine arts suites that also becomes the storm shelter when needed.
