K-12: Marcus Ninth Grade Center

DESCRIPTION:

The campus houses ninth grade in two stacked classroom wings comprising of core curriculum classrooms, science classrooms, science labs, art, health, special education, large group instruction lecture hall. Each house contains a de-centralized administrative office to promote a smaller learning community and a personalized connection between students and administrators. Classrooms and corridors will incorporate natural light and student/ teacher collaboration areas that promote interactive learning with team teaching. The facility also contains a centralized administration area with a secured vestibule main entry leading to the learning hub, an open, adaptable and agile space which functions as a media center, cafeteria and collaborative learning environment. The learning hub wraps a central courtyard that integrates the Ninth Grade Campus into the site and gives students and teachers an opportunity for outdoor learning environments.
